My Journey into QKO
My name is Jina, the owner of QKO Asian Market. I’m Korean, but grew up in Kuwait, and my kids grew up in Dubai. I have spent most of my life in the Middle East, surrounded by Muslim friends who treated me like family.
They always loved the Japanese and Korean snacks but worried about haram ingredients.
Over time, I realized I wanted to create snack shops where Japanese and Korean bestselling items are plenty without worries of haram ingredients.
QKO means ‘Express’ in Japanese, as if taking an express train from Dubai to Seoul, Tokyo, and Bangkok and it also reflects my story:
